In the fall of 2015 I visited 6 intentional communities in upstate New York. I had contacted them beforehand via email, and stayed in each for one week. During those seven days my aim was to get to know the people, the ideas behind the community and how things work in practice. Towards the end of the week I invited a couple of community members to a video interview. I asked each of them the same questions, through which I aimed to know more about their personal experience, the challenges and highlights of community living.
